Cheap Eats

Eating out in Barbados can be expensive as many food items are imported. However, you don’t always need to spend a great deal to get good food. Here are a few options:

Worthing Square has an excellent selection of food trucks and stalls featuring international cuisine. It is located at Worthing, Christ Church at the bottom of Rendezvous Hill, and is open from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm daily. 

Savvy On The Bay also has an exciting collection of food trucks located at Carlisle Bay, St. Michael, on the outskirts of Bridgetown, on one of the best beaches in Barbados.

Food vans sell local food at reasonable prices. Look for locals surrounding the back of an open van, and chances are it is outfitted with food warmers full of local cuisine.

Rum shops provide a variety of food ranging from cutters (sandwiches) to full meals at great prices.  

Cuz’s Fish Shack at Pebbles Beach serves delicious fish cutters (sandwiches) at reasonable prices. It's located close to the Hilton and next to the Radisson.

Caboose is an old fishing boat at the northern end of Speightstown, serving amazing fish cutters (sandwiches) and drinks.

The food courts at Lanterns Mall, Sheraton Mall and Sky Mall have a wide range of restaurants that are reasonably priced.

Chefette, the local fast-food restaurant has fourteen locations island-wide, service chicken, sandwiches, pizza, rotis, ice cream and more.

Brighton Farmers Market is great for breakfast and coffee on a Saturday morning.

Oistins Fish Fry is extremely popular on a Friday night, but you can also go on other nights if you want a quieter experience. Fish, lobster, chicken and other dishes are available, and there is music, entertainment and lots of drinks.
